Nice park with a "state park" feel except with hook-ups! We decided to go up to Door County for the weekend rather last minute and all the state parks were completely booked. Found this park online and the rates were cheaper than out-of-state rates at the state park! The owners were very nice, park facilities were well-maintained and clean, and the dog and kids loved the nature trails. Very convenient to Fish Creek restaurants and other Door County attractions. While some reviewers noted road noise from being on Hwy 42, we did not notice it much at all. Will certainly stay here again!

There are small but very beautiful sites (nearly all of them adjacent to one of the 3 mountain streams that run through the park). There are tons of activities for kids and families (pool, mini golf, playground, etc). They also have a nice outdoor movie theater that offers nightly movies. The owners very friendly and campground very clean. There is only one small drawback-- like a previous reviewer mentioned, showers are push button and non-adjustable for temperature. The water initially was freezing cold, and then turned too hot (nearly scalding temps). It was tolerable for adults but way too hot for kids.

Small, quiet park adjacent to the Henry river. Mostly seasonal and longer-term campers but a few short-term sites available (all are enormous). Owners live on-site and are very welcoming and friendly. Park is well-kept and has a small playground, basketball court, fishing pond, and horseshoes for kids. There's a small laundry building available, but no bathhouse as of yet, so therefore, only self-contained RVs and trailers are accepted. Park is located down a steep gravel drive that is gated, so you must make reservations in-advance to get the gate code. Free Wi-Fi, electric and sewer all worked flawlessly. A nice place to stay when visiting Hickory and Catawba county.

Most sites here are super large and wide, but the side section where we were had very tiny sites crammed together with no cable TV (our site didn't even have a picnic table). Considering this, the nightly rate was really excessive for these little sites (even if it was Mardi Gras). On the bright side, the bathrooms were very clean, work camper hosts were friendly, WiFi worked well. The location seemed a bit better than the other in-town New Orleans RV parks (that are in more industrial areas).

A nice park with great views and sounds of the Gulf. It is right across the street from a large, sparsely-populated, dog-friendly public beach. No big condo buildings here, so just about every RV site has a nice view of the Gulf. The park has 2 sections-- the Phase 1 section are lots for sale or for long-term rental (1 week or more) and many are leveled with concrete pads and added palm trees and grass. The Phase 2 section are short-term rental sites that have gravel pads (most are level, but some are not). The bathhouse, clubhouse, and pool are newer and very nice. The only minor complaint is baths & pool are not heated. The cable TV & WiFi work great. There is a nice laundry room and relaxing clubhouse with a screened in porch.

The Park has very nice facilities--pretty pool and mini-golf course, big store, and nice hills and trees throughout the park. Bathrooms are large and clean, but a bit musty at times. Wi-fi costs extra ($30 per week or $5 per day) but was strong and worked well. Verizon cell phone map said it covered this CG, but I could only get coverage by driving a 1/2 mile west of the park up a hill. Staff was rather blah but competent--not rude, but not particularly friendly either. Some sites were a bit small, but most were well-sized. Cable TV had many channels and worked well. Not too many parks in Vermont with this many amenities, so price was fair for all they provided.

A nice park conveniently located for seeing prime foliage areas of VT and NH. Friendly staff and pretty park with plenty of trees and a nice little pond at the entrance. Some sites share a single utility post meaning that you may need longer hoses, electric, and cable TV cords than at a typical site, but all utilities including wi-fi worked well. Only 1 bathhouse (which is located down near the office and pool). If you camp in the upper terrace sites, be prepared to use your camper's facilities or walk up/down a large hill. Don't bring lots of trash with you--due to Vermont's strict conservation rules, there are no dumpsters or trash bins located in the campground. Staff will pick up to one kitchen-sized bag of trash from your site each morning.

It has friendly staff and is easy to find from the highway (while being far enough away from it to be a quiet campground). Site lay out was a bit odd and cramped in the full hookup sites. Bathrooms were either not heated or minimally heated, so not great for Fall camping, but they were clean. Good for an overnight interstate stay, but I wouldn't camp here as a destination. There are much prettier and cheaper sites at Starved Rock State Park (if you can get one).

A gorgeous, quiet, and peaceful park surrounding a nice little pond. It is family owned and operated. A great base camp for exploring the stores/restaurants/sites of Bennington and Williamstown. Some sites were rather oddly laid out and not clearly marked, but the park wasn't crowded, so everyone had plenty of room and privacy. Only 1 small bathhouse, but it was clean. No hot water in the sinks though. Cable TV and wi-fi worked great. Cell phone coverage was a bit weak, but possible.

Pleasant KOA convenient to the Kanc Hwy and Franconian Notch. Sites were close together around the perimeter of the park, but nice open space in the middle and in front. Staff was friendly, baths were nice and clean, and nice little mini golf and pool. Wi-Fi worked well. Wished the park had Cable TV, but no such luck.

A very pretty park and very friendly staff. Pull-through sites were a tad bit wider than most KOAs and beneath lots of beautiful trees. Super clean restrooms, but showers were in their own "rooms" that were unheated--fine for most of the year, but a bit cold in October mornings. A great daily breakfast offered at a reasonable price with fantastic pancakes and waffles. Cable TV worked great, and wi-fi was good initially, but then broke down during the weekend I was there and park staff were never able to fix it in the remaining 2 days I was there.

Positives: Most sites are electric and fairly good sized. Bathhouse is newer and seemed well maintained. Most sites are non-reserved and usually available last-minute (even Labor Day weekend still had sites available). A concessionaire drives around the campground at dusk selling firewood and ice-- very convenient. Quiet out of the way park. Illinois State Parks require no vehicle entrance fee. Negatives: Steep hills make walking in the park difficult. Not many trails of interest in the park anyway. Lake was completely green and half-covered with algae when we were there so was not appealing for swimming or canoeing. But biggest negative by far was the heavy-handed ranger and park hosts who nagged and nit-picked. I've never ever experienced that at any other private or public park I've stayed at, so camping here is simply not worth that kind of hassle. Plenty of other nicer parks in the area.

Pretty park with large sites and lots of trails and picnic areas. Restrooms were OK, but showers could use some updating. Park staff/hosts were very friendly, but other campers were noisy at times. Town of Madison is wonderful--lots of historic buildings and nice riverfront. All and all, would stay here again.

Gorgeous park on Lake Michigan. Sandy beaches are very pretty and there's a nice dog beach south of the lighthouse, but biting flies were terrible in late July when I was there. The campground has large wooded sites, many are quite private. There's one average and one newer bathhouse, so no lack of facilities. Nice bike trails as well. I'll definitely return, just not when the bugs are so active!

Large, diverse, and pretty park with lots to do. There's a long beach along Lake Michigan for sunbathing, a good-sized inland lake for motor boating and canoing, and a short stretch of river connecting the two lakes for lazily tubing/rafting. There are 3 campgrounds, and like most Michigan state parks, are very densely packed sites but do have well-kept bath facilities. I do really wish they'd allow a small section of beach somewhere for dogs, and would have a bit large camping sites. But other than that, the park is excellent and town of Ludington also very nice.

Nice clean well-maintained campground with many seasonal units but very quiet during the week. CaTV and WiFi worked well, but my site was also close to the front office-- not sure how it'd do from further away. Bathroom was clean and never saw another soul using it, which was good because they only have 1 toilet/shower per gender for the whole place. Convenient location & very friendly staff. Would stay here again.

Nice quiet location with easy access to Highway 101 and the beach. Park is in the evergreen trees and sites are actually larger than many KOA-type parks. Wifi and cable TV worked well. But a few negatives-- the park was a commercial campground that was purchased by the city a few years ago. The city does not seem as motivated to maintain it-- the heaters in the restrooms were all broken (too cold for showers), and the pool/spa area looked too dirty to use. Also, my Verizon cell phone was unable to get a signal without attaching it to my cell phone booster, or driving into town.

Very nice, well-maintained KOA, in a super location. Sites are not huge, but there's lots of green space around the park and nature preserve behind the park. Even though the park is on a busy 4-lane road, it is quiet at night. Restrooms were exceptionally clean and there were 2 large fenced-in dog areas and a long dog run in the back. Very comfortable base camp for visiting Seattle.

Beautiful campground within tall pines. Sites varied from very large and private, to smaller and less private. Wonderful beaches on the sound as well as a good sized lake for paddling and fishing. Only 2 downsides-- showers required tokens, which were only available at the front gate (which I was not informed of until I tried to take a shower), and the park is located near an active Naval Air Station that had many extremely loud military jets taking off and landing the first day we were there. Fortunately, they did not have much activity the rest of the weekend.

If you can't, or don't like to walk a lot, avoid this park! While the park was very clean, had a indoor pool & spa, and had nice hedges between each site for privacy, overall, this park seemed more concerned with packing as many RVs into a small space and charging as much as possible, than making guests feel welcome and comfortable. All cars had to be parked in parking lots at the front of the park, as sites were too small to accommodate them. There were no dog runs, so dogs had to be taken all the way out of the park to an adjacent nature trail. While the bathroom was clean and large, there was only one for the whole park so many folks needed to walk quite a ways to get there. The cable TV and WiFi worked well.

Best park in the Sequim area and the only one not affected by Hwy 101 noise. Nearly new park with gorgeous grounds and great views of the mountains. In-town location is convenient. Hosts were exceptionally friendly and hosted a bonfire and potluck for all campers to meet each other. Restrooms were spotless and gorgeous with a very cozy residential feel. Free high-speed internet was included and was wired, DSL at each site (rather than Wi-Fi). They will loan you a cable if you don't have one. Certainly would stay again.

This was an older park with many seasonal trailers, but residents & owners were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Park is across the street from a nice pebble along the bay. 2 bath facilities-- one older and one newer, but both fairly clean and well maintained. Pay showers were $1 per 5 mins. They advertised Wifi, but I could not connect to it. The town of Qualicum Beach about 10km to the south is quiet and lovely. Nice area to relax and enjoy.

KOA with a very natural and rustic feel in the pine trees on a mountain top. Great for smaller campers, motorhomes, and tents but likely not a good place for big rigs wanting lots of level pavement. Wifi worked well; no cable TV available. Owners were U.S. natives and exceptionally friendly. Bathrooms were modern and larger than most KOAs, but were not well heated (fortunately the showers were in a separate room of the building and were heated a bit better). Nice play area for the kids.

Very nice state park campground with selection of wooded or grass lawn sites. All sites have electric. We had a rally on the grassy loop and it was an ideal location with lots of space. The flush toilet/shower buildings are insufficient for the # of sites, but they were clean. The reservation system in Illinois is ridiculous (all via snail mail). But the park itself is a gem. Lots of beautiful scenery and activities.

Nice park for hiking and picnicing, but the campground is not ideal. Most sites are very unlevel and on grassy hills within a tall pine forest. The size of the sites makes most of them unsuitable for trailers/RVs, yet the unlevel terrain makes them unsuitable for tents as well. Also, the rangers did little to keep the noise down from other campers. While the bathroom had flush toilets and showers, there were far too few of them for the # of sites, and they were crowded and dirty as a result. I'd not camp here again, but will do a day visit.

We had to stay here 10 days when our tow vehicle broke down and was getting repaired in Jackson. Certainly there are a few modest improvements that could be made to the restrooms and site layouts, but the staff here were the best of any KOA I've ever stayed at. They made us feel at home, and our stay was very comfortable. Access to the Snake River was a great way to cool off in the afternoons (dog loved it!), and wi-fi access was excellent from the middle of the park at all times of the day or night. While the restrooms and showers were clean, they could have used some additional ventilation or air conditioning during this very hot month in Jackson. Some sites did seem rather cramped, but our's was fine. Price is higher, but only because Jackson real estate is so outrageously high and many parks have now sold out to developers. We would certainly stay here again. Very friendly, family-oriented park!

We stayed here due to a camping rally. The sites were shady and grassy with electric, and the townspeople were very nice and welcoming. Otherwise, the park itself was a dump. Restrooms were old, very cramped and borderline clean; the roads and motel were rundown and dumpy, and front desk staff surprisingly rude/cold. Would not be my first choice for camping in the area.

Wonderful owners-- very friendly and helpful. Very clean, well-maintained park. Good wifi and cable TV. Also, the town of Holbrook has lots of fun stuff to see with Rte. 66 attractions as well as Petrified Forest Natl Pk. Only slight drawback to this KOA is that it's on a hill overlooking the interstate, so noise might an issue if you don't have a well-insulated trailer (or if you want to sleep with windows open). It didn't bother me much, so I give this KOA a high rating!

Not sure why this park has gotten some bad reviews. I found it to be one of the better KOAs. There were privacy bushes between most sites, nice landscaping and activity areas, and good wifi and cable. Restrooms/showers were clean and well-maintained. Staff was courteous and competent. Not too far from the interstate, yet far enough not to hear any traffic noise. All and all, a nice place!

A very high-class property with upscale clubhouses and pool/spa. Nice off-leash pet areas. Very friendly & service-oriented staff. Only drawbacks are the basics--- wifi was HORRIBLE. Could only get it while parked right outside the clubhouse, and even then, it was up and down allot. Cable TV was also pretty stingy (only 20 channels). Price seemed a bit steep considering that, otherwise I would have rated the park a 10.

Friendly staff, even drives to your site. Nice desert landscaping. A restroom/shower building was just across from my site. But, unfortunately, that's about all the positives I can come up with for this KOA. The restroom/shower building was unheated and dingy; wifi didn't work at all; and it was a bit on the noisy side with truck traffic from the highway. At least it was cheap!

Large park, but only appears to have one bathhouse, so quite a walk if you're at the ends of the park. Lots of trees and larger spread out sites. Close to the the interstate, but I didn't notice the noise too much due to privacy fencing. Good cable/wifi coverage. Didn't see much staff, but seemed fairly well run.

An older KOA but lots of wide-open space around the park and clean restrooms/showers. Decent wifi and cable. Nice owners. Funny feature is that there's a pack of wild jackrabbits that live near the pet walk area. My dog thought they were the weirdest looking "dogs" she'd ever seen hopping around and such! Even though the park is adjacent to the airport land, there is virtually no planes at night so it's quiet (but during the day, there can be an occasional military or commercial jet).

If you like small, quiet, well-maintained parks, this place is for you. Nice staff, big sites, fantastic wifi and cable, super clean restrooms/showers, and only 1 block from a gorgeous beach and dunes. If the surf's up, you can even hear it from your campsite! While kids are permitted here, there's not much for them to do-- no pool or playground, and no planned activities like at bigger parks. But if you're looking for a quiet base camp for working and/or vacationing, this park can't be beat.

Beautiful park with lots of trees and a gorgeous river. This park has it all. There's a "big RV" side with many pull-thru sites, as well as a more natural, rustic side nicer for pop-ups, truck campers, and tents (many with water & electric). Wi-fi worked at site, but sometimes got overloaded in the evening. Facilities are spotless and staff is exceptionally friendly and service-oriented. I'll be back!

A State Park campground with RV Park amenities! Every site I saw had concrete or wood deck dining pads as well as asphalt drives. Most sites are handicap accessible and have electric or full hookups. Many pull-thru sites. The shower/bath houses were newer and quite clean. They even had a large coin laundry room that had a sink for washing dishes as well as vending machines. The park is in arid foothills. There is a lower loop close to the boat launch that is rather open/exposed. The upper loop is on top of a foothill and has great views of the lake and San Juan Mtn range plus more short/squatty pine trees for a tad bit more privacy and wind protection. Great location to explore the northern portions of the San Juan scenic loop and not too far from Montrose if you need some city conveniences.

The loop with electric sites is fantastic -- most are very large sites with excellent privacy, and half are right on the shore of Marie Louise Lake. Very quiet at night with great skies for stargazing.

Park is on a beautiful section of shoreline of Lake Superior, bounded on the west by the gorgeous Little Pic river. Sites in the A section have nice views of Superior and are mostly for larger rigs. Electric sites in the other loops are mostly good, but some sites are small. Most have good privacy, though. The only drawback to this park is that the cross-country railway runs along the border of the park and train noise can be heard occasionally.
07/2006

Terrific sandy beach campground on Lake Superior with fantastic sunsets! All sites are shaded by tall pine trees, but there is very little ground cover so minimal privacy between sites. While some sites might be accessible by bigger rigs, most are too small. Great facilities, including a new, modern visitor's center. Dogs are prohibited from the main beach in front of the campsites, but there is a nice section of sandy beach directly north of the campsites that allows dogs. If camping in a tent or tent trailer, traffic noise may be an issue as the Trans-Canada highway borders the east side of the campground.

Wonderful park on top of high bluffs overlooking the confluence of the Wisconsin and Mississippi rivers. Most of the Wisconsin Ridge sites have direct blufftop views of the river, however, many sites are small and require tight turns to get to so be careful with bigger rigs. The Homestead sites are at the edge of a forest overlooking prairie land. Sites here are usually larger and more private. While the campground facilities are in-line with other Wisconsin state parks (slightly towards the rustic side), the park itself offers lots to see and do, particularly a fantastic canoe route in the wetlands area along the Mississippi, as well as nice hiking and biking opportunities along the bluffs.

Very nice state park on a beautiful lake, conveniently located near all the Wisconsin Dells attractions. Close to the highway, but far enough away to not hear it from most sites. Camping is typical of Wisconsin state parks (sufficient amenities such as showers & electric, but leaning towards the rustic side). Many sites are located in a pine forest and some offer lake views. Good for most tent trailers and RVs, but some big rigs might have problems getting around some of the loops. The lake is fantastic for canoeing/kayaking-- especially into the canyoned arm just across from the boat landing. Rental boats are available at the concession stand. There's also a nice picnic area and beach.

Very large park on the western side of Door County peninsula. 4 main campgrounds offer a good variety of camping experiences, from smaller tent sites to large electric sites, and many in-between. Many are situated in the forest with good shade cover and privacy. The park itself is terrific for bike riding, hiking, and walking along the pebble beach. Conveniently located near Fish Creek where you can partake in the traditional Door County fish boil dinners at many of the local restaurants or browse the many interesting shops for nicknacks.
